London Heathrow has announced that it will reopen Terminal 3 on July 15 as more people get vaccinated and demand for air travel rises.

Heathrow closed its terminal 3 back in 2020 to get along with the pandemic hit situation and prevent expenses. Compulsory Quarantine and less movement reduced the demand for air travel worldwide.

Virgin Atlantic’s presence can be felt most in terminal 3. Virgin Atlantic, Delta Air Lines, and Middle East Airlines; members of the Sky team alliance use this terminal. The reopening of terminal 3 will allow Delta and Virgin Atlantic to access luxuries like Virgin Atlantic clubhouse, Upper-class wing, and many more.

“We’re delighted to be back on our home turf finally, and I know our teams can’t wait to warmly welcome our customers to Terminal 3, as they return to the skies in style, as they fly safe and well with Virgin Atlantic,” said Virgin Atlantic’s Chief Customer and Operating Officer, Corneel Koster.

British Airways will also operate some flights from terminal 3 again. Although British Airways will continue to operate most of its flights from terminal 5, it will also operate a handful of flights from terminal 3.

The reopening of terminal 3 signifies that the aviation industry is recovering from the hard-hit COVID-19 pandemic.
