An unruly passenger was removed from an American Airlines flight by authorities at O’Hare International Airport on Sunday.
The 26-year-old man was on board American flight AA3927 from Portland International Jetport to Chicago O’Hare International Airport. He was detained until the plane landed in Chicago.
An airline spokesperson confirmed that police were requested to attend the flight on landing at O’Hare due to a “disruptive passenger.” A Chicago Police Department said that the passenger was released and that no citations were given.
The flight which Envoy Air was operating landed safely with no injuries. A total of 79 people, including four crew members, were on board the flight.
Although an initial tweet by Windy City Weather and News claimed the man was banging on the cockpit’s door trying to get in, the airline said this claim was not true.
