Aircraft lessor SkyWorks Leasing is auctioning 17 LATAM Airlines Group aircraft currently stored in Victorville, California.
LATAM Airlines Group rejected several leases last year due to its Chapter 11 bankruptcy process. LATAM is currently evaluating the adequate fleet needs for the following years. In a statement, the carrier said:
“Given the filing for voluntary reorganization and restructuring of their debt under Chapter 11 protection in the United States, LATAM is currently evaluating the adequate fleet needs for the following years.”
SkyWorks Leasing (Ireland) is auctioning two Airbus A350-900s, four Boeing 787-9s and eleven Airbus A321-200s via public auction. The auction will take place on 14th April.
The A321s are committed to long-term leases, expected to begin in 2021’s second quarter, whereas the A350s and 787s are off-lease, said the lessor.
