United Airlines said Tuesday that it would return to Kennedy International Airport after five years beginning in February 2021, with best-in-class service to Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Starting February 1, United will operate four daily flights out of JFK, two to Los Angeles, and two to San Francisco. United left operating out of JFK in October 2015 after failing to make a profit for years, amid huge competition.
The Chicago-based airline will operate the flights out of Terminal 7. United will operate these flights onboard the Boeing 767-300ER. These Boeing 767-300ERs can carry 167 passengers including 46 passengers in business class.
Regarding this, United’s CEO Scott Kirby said:
“I have been waiting a long time to say this — United Airlines is back at J.F.K. Come early next year, we will be serving all three major New York City area airports with a best-in-class product to provide our customers unmatched transcontinental service from New York City and the West Coast.”
