A woman gave birth to a baby boy on board IndiGo flight from Delhi

A woman gave birth to a baby boy on board IndiGo flight from Delhi to Bengaluru on Wednesday evening. The airlines’ assistance and celebration of the birth have since gone viral on social media.

In a statement, IndiGo confirmed that both the mother and the child were healthy and the flight landed at the Bengaluru airport at 7:40 PM. The airline said:

“We confirm that a baby boy was delivered prematurely on flight #6E122 from Delhi to Bangalore. There are no further details available.”

Dr. Shailaja Vallabhani was fortunately on this flight. The airlines crew members assisted the doctor during the birth. The airline celebrated and planned for the arrival of the baby. An ambulance was also ready on the tarmac and the ground teams applauded the mother and baby boy.
