A Ukranian passenger who was travelling via a Qatar Airways flight reportedly passed away after a heart stroke. The Doha-Bangkok flight was then diverted to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Hyderabad, where doctors examined the passenger and declared her brought dead.
According to media reports, the passenger, identified as Galyna Konkina, was found ‘unresponsive and unconscious’ in the flight at around 1.30 am on Tuesday. She was said to have a history of heart ailment and had even undergone a bypass surgery several years ago.
On finding her unresponsive in the flight, the crew had reportedly carried out pulmonary resuscitation, but to no avail.
Qatar Airways expressed its condolences to the family of the deceased. This is not the first time that a plane has landed at the Hyderabad airport, owing to a medical emergency.
