Virgin Australia has hosted Australia’s first “Runway in the Sky” on 13 February. The fashion event included Australian Victoria’s Secret model Kelly Gale strutting down the aisles of one of the airline’s A330 aircraft. Ms Gale and other models wore designs from an Australian fashion label. The flight was a Melbourne-Sydney flight. The fashion show was a promotion for the Virgin Australia Fashion Festival (VAFF) that starts next month. Ms Gale flew in from LA just to model for the event.

Event organiser Cat Rose told media, “There were so many elements to consider, from lighting, to sound, to guest comfort, and most importantly safety, but we were able to navigate all of these challenges in a constricted space.”
Ms Gale also told local media the fashion show at 30,000 feet was a “natural fit” and that “aviation runs in the family- my mum is a pilot, so I jumped at the chance to be involved.”
