The second largest airline in Romania is set to launch flights from Brno, Czech Republic with new subsidiary.
The company will operate flights from Brno, Czech Republic with flights commencing at the end of March 2018.
It is said at this time that The South Moravian Regional Council will own a 35% stake in the new airline to be known as Blue Air Moravia.
Blue Air is currently planning to base one Boeing 737-500 at Brno, with capacity to carry 126 passangers. The aircraft will serve the following routes:
Non-Seasonal
Milan, Brussels, Barcelona, Lvov, Rome
Seasonal
Dubrovnik and Split
It is said that the partnership with Blue Air is expected to increase passenger numbers from by about 130,000 people a year.
They have 26 aircraft as of 31/12/2017 all incorporating Boeing 737 types. These include:
- 2 Boeing 737-300s
- 5 Boeing 737-400s
- 6 Boeing 737-500s
- 1 Boeing 737-700s
- 12 Boeing 737-800s
They also have a contract to receive Boeing 737MAX8s as of 2019 with Air Lease Corporation.
This shall be Blue Air’s 4th Base outside of Romania joining Larnaca, Liverpool and Turin.
