Thursday 7th April 2016 marked the 10th anniversary of operations between Reykjavik & Manchester for Icelandair. The first flight took off from Manchester on April 7th 2006 and have gone from 2 flights per week to 4 weekly flights in the Summer with intentions of going daily in the Winter.

Icelandair today present passengers travelling onwards from Manchester to the States and Canada with often the fastest travel option, as we serve a lot of gateways for which there are no direct routes. Destinations such as Chicago, Seattle, Portland, Denver, Minneapolis and Anchorage are all the quickest from Manchester with Icelandair. Icelandair also offer transit passengers the opportunity to have a stopover in Iceland for up to 7 days without charging any additional airfare, in fact if a traveller opts to have an Icelandair stopover on their outbound journey then they can save approximately £50 per person on APD tax. That money could be put towards the cost of a hotel or excursion on a stopover!”
