NEWS Emirates & Malaysia Airlines Announce Codesharing Agreements

Emirates & Malaysia Airlines unveiled new routes under their codesharing agreement on April 4th to provide customers with even more connections when they are flying across the world. 

The new routes cover 15 Malaysian Cities:

  • Langkawi
  • Penang
  • Johor Bahru
  • Kuching
  • Miri
  • Bintulu
  • Sibu
  • Kota Kinabalu
  • Sandakan
  • Tawau
  • Labuan
  • Alor Setar
  • Kota Bharu
  • Kuantan
  • Kuala Terengganu

This is an expansion of codesharing agreements between the two airlines after they launched a codesharing agreements on the Kuala Lumpur-Dubai Route on February 15th of this year. Emirates implemented 3 daily Boeing B77W flights per day and 1 daily A380 flight to the Malaysian capital.

“The codeshare with Malaysia Airlines will provide more seamless travel options for our passengers to visit 15 cities in Malaysia and elsewhere in the region with a convenient connection in Kuala Lumpur. Reciprocally, travellers from the region will also benefit from an expanded network including 90 destinations spanning Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas. At the same time, they will be able to earn and redeem miles when flying on any Emirates and Malaysia Airlines-operated flights,” said Thierry Antinori, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, Emirates.

On all routes covered in the codeshare between the two airlines, passengers will enjoy the increased baggage limits!:

  • Economy Class = 30KG
  • Business Class = 40KG
  • First Class = 50KG
