NEWS Royal Brunei 787 suffer engine failure and both engines are damaged near Manila on Wed 21st

Royal Brunei 787 V8-DLB flight BI-684 had just departed Manila when the crew stopped the climb at 28,00ft and reported the left engine had failed and shut down.

The aircraft returned to Manila for a safe landing about 50 minutes after departing. The flight was then cancelled.

Update 28th Oct: Airline said while preparing the change of the left hand engine, an inspection took place and it concluded that both engines had sustained the same damage.

787 Dreamliner V8-DLB as of 30th Oct remains at Manila and is continuing with repairs
