Sunday, a Russian Su-35 flew very closely several times from a French Reaper drone above the eastern Mediterranean Sea.
On Tuesday, March 4, Sébastien Lecornu published on his X account a video taken last Sunday of a Russian SU-35 fighter plane approaching a French Reaper drone “on a surveillance mission in international airspace over the Eastern Mediterranean.”
In the message posted with the video, the Minister of French Defense describes the three successive passes of the Russian aircraft “in close proximity” as “dangerous behavior” which “could have led to the loss of control of the drone” and “demonstrating a desire to restrict free air traffic in common areas.”
