On 23rd October, a Russian Air Force Sukhoi Su-30 crashed into a residential building in Irkutsk, during a test flight. Both pilots died in the crash.
Igor Kobzev, the governor of the Irkutsk Oblast posted on Telegram stating that the fighter jet crashed into a two-storey building in the Siberian city of Irkutsk. He further said that both pilots had been killed, but there were no victims among the civilian population.
Footage shared on social media showed the plane diving almost vertically before crashing in a fireball, sending thick black smoke into the sky.

The press service of the Head Office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Irkutsk Oblast confirmed the incident saying, “The plane fell within the city limits, in a private housing area. Fire and rescue units are working on the scene; the information is being clarified.”
Russia’s state Investigative Committee said that it had launched a criminal investigation into violations of air safety rules.
