An Air Force F-35 crashed at the end of a runway near Salt Lake City, Utah, officials said on Wednesday.
Emergency crews were called out to Hill Air Force Base Wednesday evening after an F-35 fighter jet crashed on the runway.
The crash happened around 6:15 p.m. Officials with 388th Fighter Wing confirmed the crash, saying it happened at the north end of the runway.
They identified the aircraft as an F-35 A Lightning II.

The pilot was able to eject before the crash. Officials did not say where the pilot landed but said they were recovered and sent to a medical center for observation.
During an evening press conference, the 388th Fighter Wing Commander at Hill Air Force Base, Col. Craig R. Andrle confirmed the pilot safely ejected and that no one was harmed.
