A tragic incident occurred early Monday morning aboard an Air France flight when an infant traveling from Kenya to France for urgent medical treatment passed away mid-flight.

PARIS – Air France confirmed that the infant suffered a fatal respiratory arrest during flight AF815, which departed from Nairobi on Sunday evening and landed at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport around 6:10 AM on Monday.

According to a spokesperson for Air France, the child suffered from a severe heart condition and was en route to France specifically to receive specialized care.

As the emergency unfolded, the flight crew strictly followed international health and safety protocols. Following standard procedure, they used satellite communication to contact the Samu de Paris emergency medical services for immediate guidance.

Simultaneously, the crew issued an urgent call for medical professionals among the passengers. Although several doctors on board responded immediately and attempted to resuscitate the child, their efforts were unfortunately unsuccessful. The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner (registration F-HRBD) landed in Paris at 06:09 CET.

Air France confirmed that the infant was accompanied during the journey, though they declined to provide further details regarding the family to protect their privacy. The airline expressed its deepest condolences to the family following the aircraft’s arrival in Paris.
