A Delta Airbus A330 diverted to Minneapolis and medical personnel met the flight upon arrival to evaluate customers and crew.
The Delta Air Lines flight DL56 departed Salt Lake City Wednesday on runway 16L, July 30 2025 at 16:36 MDT.
The airbus A330-900 (registration N422DZ) first climbed to 35,000 feet but encountered a storm only 45 minutes after takeoff then climbed to 37,000 feet when several passengers and crew members have been injured by turbulence.
The flight DL56 was diverted to the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport for an emergency landing at around 7:25 p.m. local time, where it was met by paramedics and fire crews.

Twenty-five people were transported to area hospitals for evaluation and care. Delta said: “Safety is our No. 1 value at Delta, and our Delta Care Team is working directly with customers to support their immediate needs.”
