A flight to New York JFK returned to Dublin shortly after takeoff due to a birdstrike.
Tuesday, July 8 2025, Aer Lingus flight EI105 climbed out of runway 28R at Dublin Airport when the crew contacted ATC about an incident on takeoff.
Pilots declared PAN-PAN and stopped the climb at 4,000 feet requiring an immediate return to DUB Airport.
The Airbus A330-300 (registration EI-FNG) turned around over the sea and landed back in Dublin on runway 28L only 31 minutes after departure.
Once landed, the aircraft stopped on taxiway to be inspected by fire service then moved to stand 314 to be checked by engineers.
People living near Dublin Airport confirmed the airplane was very noisy, suspecting a compressor stall.
