A Qantas Airbus A380 from London to Singapore was forced to divert to Baku due to a medical emergency.
Qantas A380 flight QF2 departed London Heathrow Airport Sunday, June 8 2025 for a flight to Sydney via Singapore.
The Airbus A380-800 (registration VH-OQB) was at cruise level of 37,000 feet over Turkmenistan when pilot decided to turn around due to a sudden medical situation on board.

The aircraft was vectored to Baku where it landed 7hours and 46 minutes after departure on runway 16.
Due to crew duty limits, the flight could not continue. Passengers were disembarked and were accommodated to nearby hotels.
The A380 aircraft left GYD Airport the next day, Tuesday, June 10 2025 at 18:25 AZT, to resume the flight to Singapore. It finally landed in Sydney Wednesday at 19:24 AEST.
