A Boeing 737 MAX 8 collided with a vehicle during takeoff from Rio de Janeiro.
A Gol Linhas Aéreas flight G31674 collided with an airport vehicle while accelerating for takeoff from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The Boeing 737 MAX 8 (registration PS-GPP), collided the vehicle during takeoff from runway 10 at Rio de Janeiro Galeão International Airport (GIG).
The takeoff was aborted and the aircraft came to a full stop on the runway.
In the conversation between the cockpit and the Galeão International Airport (GIG) tower, the GOL pilots reported: “We aborted takeoff, we hit a car in the middle of the runway, on 10”. The controller then asks: “Confirm, was the car in the middle of the runway or was it clearing on Charlie Charlie?”. Pilots respond: “In the center of the runway, in the center of the runway, it collided”.
