Swiss Air flight from Oslo to Zurich declared an emergency and diverted to Frankfurt.
Swiss Air flight #LX1219 departed Oslo, Norway this morning at 06:45 local time to Zurich.
The flight usually last 2 hours and is scheduled to land at 8:50 in Zurich. But today, Sunday, June 30 2024, didn’t reach Switzerland.
The flight, operated by an Embraer 195 (registration HB-AZL) climbed to 35,000 ft and headed to south.
But about 1 hour and 30 minutes into the flight, the crew declared an emergency (squawk 7700) and was vectored to FRA Airport by ATC.
The aircraft performed a rapid descent from 35,000 ft to 5,000 ft in 17 minutes then landed on runway 25C at 08:40 local time.
The diversion was due to a medical emergency. The flight resumed from Frankfurt to Zurich 2 hours later. It landed in Zurich at 11:30.
