Somaliland Civil Aviation and Airports Authority is blaming air traffic controllers in Mogadishu, Somalia about a near-miss air collision.
Somaliland Civil Aviation and Airports Authority says the near-miss air collision occurred On the night of Sunday, March 24, 2024, around 12:43 in East Africa.
Emirates Airways flight UAE722 and Ethiopian Airlines flight ETH690 were flying at the same altitude of 37,000ft.
The report blames Mogadishu controllers who gave these two planes the same altitude.
Emirates can confirm that there was no instance of an aircraft proximity event compromising the safety of the aircraft over the airspace and during the date and time in question. All Emirates aircraft are equipped with capabilities to maintain safe separation and distance during operations.
