A Safarilink aircraft collided mid-air with a small plane shortly after departure from Nairobi Wilson Airport.
A Safarilink De Havilland Canada DHC-8-300 was damaged after colliding mid-air with a Cessna 172 shortly after departure from Nairobi Wilson Airport in Kenya.
Safarilink Aviation reported that this morning at 9:45 Local Time our flight number 053 with 39 passengers and 5 crew on board headed to Diani experienced a loud bang soon after take-off.
The De Havilland Canada DHC-8-300 aircraft (reg. 5Y-SLK) was departing Nairobi Wilson (HKNW) for Ukunda Diani (HKUK), Mombasa when it was involved in a mid-air collision with a Cessna 172 Skyhawk (5Y-NNJ) at around 9.45am LT.
Two people on board the Flying Club Cessna died in the accident police said.
