A Jetways Airlines Fokker 50 cargo aircraft crashed at Ceelbarde Airport in Somalia while transporting humanitarian aid to the region. Reports state one of the pilots lost their life and another was wounded.
The Fokker 50 with registration 5Y-JWG was carrying relief aid supplies. It was reportedly carrying food on behalf of the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) to the people of that district from Aden Adde Airport in Mogadishu.
However, it ran off the runway and hit a house, killing one pilot and injuring another. The cargo aircraft received non-repairable damages in the fatal accident while landing in Somalia.
According to preliminary reports, the plane crash occurred after the plane had a malfunction and could not extend its legs during landing, and crashed into a building near the airport.
The manager of Elbarde district airport told the media that the plane crashed outside the airport, and one of the people who was on the plane died in the accident.

The reports add that the person who died in the crash was the pilot of the plane, and the aircraft that crashed was accompanied by four people who were members of the WFP organization, who survived the accident.
There is no news from the Federal Government of Somalia regarding the plane crash that took place today.
