On the 5th of January, 2024, two Silver Airways ATR-72s collided on the ground while being towed at Fort Lauderdale International Airport.
The ATR-72 with registration N702SV contacted the tail of another ATR-72 with registration N708SV of the same company whilst it was under tow without passengers.
According to reports, the incident took place to the west of Terminal 3 in an area not designated for aircraft. No one was on board either of the planes at the time of the incident and no one was injured in the incident.
Footage shared on the internet shows the two planes just inches away from each other on the tarmac.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the incident took place shortly before 8 a.m. The collision took place in an area not under air traffic control, the FAA said.
Airport officials said that the incident had no impact on airport operations. The FAA will investigate the incident.
