Aer Lingus flight #EI117 from Dublin to Washington experienced a severe tailstrike on landing attempt.
On August 30th, 2023, an Aer Lingus Airbus A321neo experienced a tailstrike during landing runway 01R at Washington-Dulles Airport.
Flight #EI117 from Dublin went around and landed safely on the same runway about 15 min later. There is extensive fuselage damage to the tail.

According to The Aviation Herald, the crew subsequently reported the reason for the go around was a “false landing”.
