An Air Baltic Airbus A220 came to a stop on the taxiway after both engines automatically shut down on landing at Copenhagen Airport.
The Airbus A220, with registration YL-AAQ, landed on Copenhagen’s runway 04L as flight BT-139 from Riga International Airport, Latvia, earlier this week on July 11th.
However, both the Pratt & Whitney PW1500G engines’ automatically shut down as soon as the aircraft touched down on the runway. The pilots slowed the aircraft and cleared the runway themselves.
The pilots reportedly used a high-speed exit to clear the runway. The A220 was subsequently towed to a remote stand after all passengers disembarked the aircraft. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The Air Baltic A220-300, with registration YL-AAQ, was delivered to the airline back in April 2019 and is currently 2.3 years old. The aircraft is powered by Pratt & Whitney PW1500G geared turbofan engines and is configured with 145 economy class seats.
