A fight broke out on a Tunisair plane minutes before take-off due to a dispute between passengers over overhead bins allocation.
The fight broke out on Saturday as the aircraft was preparing to operate flight TU216 from Istanbul Airport to Tunis-Carthage International Airport.
The flight was delayed for five hours after the fight between passengers and cabin crew. Some flight attendants were insulted and physically attacked.
Video shared on the internet shows passengers pushing each other and pulling each other’s hair.
“An investigation has been opened, and that the passengers, at the origin of the incident, could be the subject of prosecution,” said airline’s spokesman Ghassen Ouji.
“This fight caused a delay of five hours, and financial losses were suffered by the company.”
The fight reportedly broke out after passengers did not want to pay additional costs to store their belongings.
