The BE996 flight from Southhampton – which was expected to arrive at 6.05pm on Tuesday – landed safely at the airport at 5.54pm.
A spokesperson from George Best Belfast City Airport said: “Following a request from a Flybe pilot of an inbound Southampton flight, emergency procedures were enacted as a precautionary measure.
