KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has announced Pieter Elbers has been appointed by the KLM Supervisory Board president to the position of chief executive of KLM, replacing Camiel Eurlings. The surprise move will see Elbers take over immediately, ahead of the end of Eurlings’ contract in April 2015.
Heathrow Airport Holdings has confirmed it will sell its 100 per cent interest in Aberdeen International Airport Limited, Glasgow Airport Limited and Southampton International Airport Limited to a consortium formed by Ferrovial and Macquarie. Dubai’s fast growing carrier, flydubai, has started today the first of three routes into Tanzania, East Africa with their daily service to Dar es Salaam, the political capital of the country.
