Saudi fighter jets began arriving at Turkey’s Incirlik airbase on Friday, allegedly to take part in the country’s aerial missions against the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIL/ISIS) in Syria. According to Turkish authorities, the warplanes will start their operations next Thursday.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence has said that RAF Typhoons have been scrambled to intercept two Russian bombers heading towards UK airspace.
