A British Airways Boeing 787 made it all the way to Greenland before deciding they didn’t want to go to Houston so came back to Heathrow instead.
British Airways flight #BA195 almost reached Greenland heading to Houston then turned back to London Heathrow Airport.
The Boeing 787-9 (reg. G-ZBKE) took off from LHR at 10.24 LT on runway 27R, heading North to Houston, but suddently perfomed a U-turn close to Greenland and flew bac to UK.
The aircraft landed at 16.15 LT on the same 27R runway, almost 6 hours later.
British Airways issued a statement to AIRLIVE: “Our highly trained pilots made the decision to return to Heathrow as a precaution due to a technical issue. We’ve apologised to customers for the inconvenience caused and we’ve arranged a replacement aircraft to allow them to continue their journey today.”
