Qantas 7-hour Boeing 787 Dreamliner scenic flight to nowhere have departed Saturday early with 150 passengers on board from Sydney. The scenic flight departed Sydney’s Kingsford Smith International Airport at 10:45 am earlier today.
The tickets for the flight was sold out within 10 minutes of going on sale. After achieving the sales record, a spokesman said:
“We knew this flight would be popular, but we didn’t expect it to sell out in 10 minutes. It’s probably the fastest selling flight in Qantas history.”
150 lucky passengers were onboard today’s flight. Economy seats were listed for $787, Premium seats at $1,787, and a few business class seats for $3,787.
The aircraft will fly over Uluru, Great Barrier Reef, the Great Barrier Reef, the Whitsundays, Gold Coast, Byron Bay, Sydney Harbor, and more. This flight includes several low-level flybys over iconic destinations across Australia.
Qantas is calling this special flight as “a once-in-a-lifetime aerial tourism flight over some of Australia’s most iconic destinations”.
Captain Alex Passerini added that the aircraft would pass over these landmarks at around 4,000 feet, nearly one-tenth of the traditional 35,000 feet that planes fly at.
