Embraer plans to deliver the first E190-E2 jet to its launch customer Widerøe in April 2018.
The regional airline from Norway has 3 E190-E2 (+12 purchase rights) on order. According to Embraer, this contract is worth almost 880 million USD.
Widerøe currently operates an all-Bombardier turboprop fleet of 40 aircraft. It is the largest regional airline in Scandinavia.
The Embraer E2 regional jet family consists of 3 different aircraft, E175-E2, E190-E2 and E195-E2. It has a total of 233 firm orders from 7 different airlines and leasing companies.
In a two class configuration, the E190-E2 has a capacity of 97 passengers, max. capacity is at 114 passengers. The aircraft had it’s first flight on May 23rd, 2016.
The E2 is the successor of Embraer’s E-jet family. Almost 1,400 E-jets have been built since introduction in 2004.
