ATLANTA — A Delta Air Lines flight from San Francisco to Atlanta became the scene of an uncomfortable mid-air disruption after a female passenger reported that a man seated next to her was secretly recording video of her during the multi-hour cross-country flight.
The incident unfolded Thursday, September 17 2026 aboard Delta flight DL570, an eastbound flight traveling from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL). According to cabin details, the male passenger was seated in 39E, a middle seat on the right-hand side of the Boeing 757, directly adjacent to the victim.
Upon noticing that the man was pointing his phone camera toward her and filming her without consent, the woman immediately alerted the flight crew. Flight attendants stepped in to de-escalate the situation and offered to relocate the woman to a different seat elsewhere in the cabin for the remainder of the journey.
While the crew managed to diffuse the immediate tension on board, the issue escalated as the aircraft prepared to land in Atlanta. Recognizing that the male passenger was scheduled on a connecting flight onward to San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU), the flight deck reached out to Delta Flight Operations prior to landing to inquire whether law enforcement should be waiting at the gate to meet the passenger upon arrival.
It remains unclear if local or federal authorities interviewed the individual upon deplaning in Atlanta before his scheduled connection to San Juan.
