A Turkish Airlines transatlantic flight safely diverted to Dublin Airport mid-flight following an onboard medical emergency.

DUBLIN, IE — Turkish Airlines flight TK32, operated by a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner (registration TC-LLP), departed Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) at 22:30 EDT on Saturday, July 18, 2026. The scheduled long-haul flight was bound for Istanbul Digital Airport (IST).

Approximately seven hours into the journey, while crossing the Atlantic, the flight crew declared a medical emergency. Acting quickly, the pilots initiated a diversion toward Ireland, safely touching down at Dublin Airport (DUB) a short time later.

Emergency Response on the Ground

Upon landing, the twin-engine aircraft was immediately met on the tarmac by the Dublin Airport Fire Service and local emergency medical services. Paramedics boarded the wide-body plane to stabilize and transport the passenger requiring urgent care.

No further details regarding the passenger’s identity or condition have been released at this time.

Resuming the Journey

Following the medical evacuation and a brief period on the ground to refuel and complete necessary safety logs, the aircraft prepared to get back on track. Flight TK32 is scheduled to depart Dublin at approximately 12:00 local time to continue its journey to Istanbul, where passengers are expected to arrive later this afternoon with a minor delay.
