United Airlines flight to Santa Ana returned George Bush Intercontinental Airport due to a technical emergency.

The United Airlines flight UA1345 departed George Bush Intercontinental Airport terminal D (gate D2B) for a 3-hour journey to Santa Ana, CA.

The Boeing 737-800 (registration N27239) climbed to FL340 then the pilots contacted ATC requiring a return to IAH Airport.

The crew declared an emergency (squawk 7700) while turning around towards Houston due to a technical issue. The reason could be a problem with the auto pilot according to source.

The Boeing aircraft landed back safely on runway 27. A New departure is estimated at 4.30 PM.
