A military aircraft reportedly crash-landed at Aden Adde Airport in Mogadishu and caught fire, multiple sources said.

Thick plumes of smoke could be seen from the direction of the airport in Mogadishu amid fears that occupants of the aircraft may have been affected.

There was no immediate reponse from the airport authorities but sources said the aircraft could be a Mi-24 helicopter attached to the AU Stabilisation Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) carrying 8 people.
