Boeing recorded 303 gross aircraft orders in May, marking its highest monthly total since December 2023, as the company pushes to gain ground on Airbus and stabilize production of its most popular jets amid close oversight from the Federal Aviation Administration.
The U.S. planemaker delivered 45 aircraft during the month, matching April’s output and nearly doubling the 24 it handed over in May 2023.
From January through May, Boeing has delivered 220 jets to customers, while Airbus has slightly outpaced it with 243 deliveries. Deliveries are critical for both manufacturers, as most of an aircraft’s value is paid upon handover.
On a net basis—after accounting for cancellations and conversions—Boeing has secured 512 orders so far this year, more than double Airbus’s 215. Additional deals may be announced at next week’s Paris Air Show, a major industry event where aerospace companies showcase new technology and finalize agreements.
