Russia launched dozens of attack drones and ballistic missiles at Kyiv overnight in one of the biggest combined aerial attacks.

In the early morning hours, witnesses reported waves of drones flying over Kyiv, followed by a series of explosions that shook the city. The sounds of anti-aircraft fire echoed throughout the capital as defense systems worked to intercept the drones.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described the night as “tough” in a social media post and urged the international community to impose new sanctions on Moscow to help force a ceasefire.

According to officials, Russia launched an overnight assault involving 14 ballistic missiles and over 250 Shahed drones. Ukrainian forces managed to intercept six missiles and counter 245 drones—shooting down 128 and disabling another 117 through electronic warfare.

Authorities from Kyiv’s city military administration and local police reported damage across six districts and confirmed that at least 15 people had been injured.
