United Airlines flight arrived in Berlin 5 hours late after aircraft had to return to Newark.

Wednesday, April 30 2025, united flight UA962 departed Newark at 17:22 EDT to Berlin Brandenburg Airport but once again, the airline had to deal with the Boeing 767 fleet.

The 23-year-old Boeing 767-400ER, with registration N67058, stopped the climb at 19,000 feet over Massachusetts as pilots had to deal with a technical issue.

The crew contact ATC and was vectored back to Newark Airport where the plane landed 1 hour and 38 minutes after the departure.

Passengers were booked on another aircraft which arrived 5 hours late in Berlin.

  • Range: About 6,625 nautical miles (12,270 km)

United Airlines has announced plans to retire its entire Boeing 767 fleet by 2030. To facilitate this transition, the airline has placed a significant order for up to 200 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, with 100 firm orders and options for an additional 100. Deliveries of these new aircraft are scheduled between 2024 and 2032.
