Air France flight from Paris CDG to Istanbul IST declared an emergency.
The flight #AF274 departed Paris CDG Airport Sunday, June 9 2024 at 23:41 CEST to Tokyo Haneda Airport.
The flight was operated by a Boeing 777-300ER (registration F-GSQM) which is 18 years old.
While cruising at 31,000 ft over Romania, the crew detected an oil issue on one of the engines. The pilots requested to divert.
The flight descended to 15,000 ft then was vectored to Istanbul. The crew squawked 7700 (general emergency) to request priority landing.
The Boeing 777 touched down at 00:45 UTC at IST Airport.
The flight is cancelled. A rescue flight will leave Paris CDG Airport this morning to Istanbul.
