Ryanair flight from Manchester to Dublin finally diverted to Paris BVA.

Ryanair flight #FR555 from Manchester to Dublin departed late on Sunday 21 January 2024.

The flight was scheduled to depart Manchester airport at 13:25 GMT but finally took off at 15:00 GMT.

The aircraft was put on hold at 8,000ft by ATC at 15:40 due to strong winds.

Due to storm Isha, the wind was gusting over 42 kt and plenty of flights could not land at Dublin.

After 30 minutes in holding pattern, the crew attempted to land at 16:18 without success.

As the situation was getting worse, the crew didn’t have other choice than to divert. But Manchester Airport was then experiencing gusts over 30 kt by that time.

Other UK airports were dealing with diversions and busy week end slots forced the pilots to finally divert to Paris BVA.
