US President Joe Biden has arrived in Kyiv, his first visit to Ukraine since Russia invaded almost a year ago.
The surprise visit came as he travelled to neighbouring Poland to meet President Andrzej Duda.
There had been speculation earlier today that an important guest was arriving in the Ukrainian capital, which Ukrainian politician Lesia Vasylenko has confirmed is Biden.
During the week end, the NATO activities at the Ukraine’s borders have increased.

Currently, during its visit, two Awacs are flying as East as possible over Poland to monitor the situation.
An airborne early warning and control system (AWACS) is an airborne radar system designed to detect aircraft, ships, vehicles, missiles, and other incoming projectiles at long ranges and perform command and control of the battlespace
They have the support of a KC-135 tanker.
