A Japan Airlines flight to Tokyo Haneda returned to London Heathrow after dumping fuel over The English Channel.

Japan Airlines flight JL42 departed from runway 27L at London Heathrow today at 09:33 BST to Tokyo Haneda Airport.

The Boeing 787-8, with registration JA840J, stopped the climb at 10,000 feet, shortly after takeoff following flap issue.

After departure, the crew contacted ATC and required to return to Heathrow due to a technical issue.

Prior returning to LHR, the Dreamliner had to dump fuel to reduce the weight of the aircraft before it started approach to runway 27L.
