A KLM flight to Tokyo Narita has turned around over Europe to divert back to Amsterdam.
The KLM flight KL861 departed Amsterdam Schiphol Airport terminal 2 today at 12:20 CEST and climbed to 33,000 ft on its way to Japan for a 13 hours and 40 minutes flight.
About 2 hours into the flight, for a reason still unknown, pilots decided to turn around over Romania.
The airline has not yet confirmed the plane is returning to Schiphol Airport.
The flight is operated by a 21-year-old Boeing 777-200ER with registration PH-BQC.
