After more than 3 years stuck at Airport in Kyiv, an Antonov An-124 cargo aircraft reached a safe place in Germany.

On July 11, 2025, an Ukrainian Antonov An-124-100 cargo aircraft made a rare flight over Kyiv, marking the first time the type has flown over the capital since the closure of Ukrainian airspace in February 2022.

Operating as flight ADB9154, the An-124 was detected by Flightradar24 at the Ukrainian border after flying through Ukraine’s highly restricted airspace.

After flying over Poland, the aircraft (registration UR-82073) landed at Leipzig Airport (LEJ) in Germany at 14:32 CEST.

Civilian flights have been banned since February 24, 2022, following the start of the full-scale Russian invasion. Only military, state, and specially authorized humanitarian missions have been permitted under strict air traffic control.

In September 2022, a Wizzair’s crew managed to rescue and fly an A320 out of Ukraine.
