The captain of a Lufthansa Boeing 747 became incapacitated on flight from Miami to Frankfurt, forcing flight to divert.
Lufthansa flight LH463 departed Miami Sunday, January 19 2025 for a 9-hour flight to Frankfurt.
The Boeing 747 (registration D-ABYF) climbed to 35,000 ft altitude but turned around near Gander, Canada after the captain became incapacitated.
The Canadian TSB reported the captain was not in command but became ill in the crew rest area. Two flight attendants provided first aid.

The crew decided to divert to Montreal. According to The Aviation Herald, The Boeing 747-8 dumped fuel enroute to Montreal, Canada.
The plane was ferried to Frankfurt 2 days later.
