A minor was arrested following hoax bomb threats in the past 3 days in India.

A 17-year-old boy was held on Wednesday in connection with the bomb threats issued to airlines in the past three days.

The minor allegedly sent bomb threats to four flights using a fake social media account. He reportedly had planned to take revenge on his friend over money dispute.

On October 14, 2024, three flights that included IndiGo to Muscat and Jeddah and one Air India received bomb threats.

On October 15, 2024, seven flights got hoax bomb threats posted online, in which an Air India flight from New Delhi to Chicago made an emergency landing at a remote Iqaluit Airport (YFB/CYFB) in Canada.

On October 16, 2024, two Akasa Air flights declared an emergency due to bomb threats.

Mumbai police had issued a notice to the teenage boy, his father and another person from Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh to join questioning in connection with bomb threats posted on social media targeting three flights.
