Two Akasa Air Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft declared an emergency the same day.
Wednesday, October 16 2024, Akasa Air flight #QP1141 declared an emergency on approach to Mumbai.
The Boeing 737 MAX 8 (registration VT-YAS) squawked 7700 (general emergency) when starting the descend to BOM airport where it landed 30 minutes later.
The same day, the flight #QP1335 departed New Delhi to Bangalore but turned around.
The Boeing 737 MAX 8 (registration VT-YBA) declared an emergency after 40 minutes into the flight.
The crew squawked 7700 (general emergency) and decided to turn around back to DEL Airport with 174 passengers, 3 infants and 7 crew members on board,
The both aircraft are respectively 5 and 2 years old.
UPDATE
According to the airline flight #QP1335 received a security alert.
During the past few days, several flights from India received bomb threats, including Air India #AI127 to Chicago and #AI119 to JFK.
