Malaysia Airlines flight from London Heathrow to Kuala Lumpur was forced to divert to Doha, Qatar.
Malaysia Airlines flight #MH1 departed London Heathrow in the late evening of Sunday, August 4 2024 at 22:05 BST from runway 27R.
The Airbus A350-900 (registration 9M-MAC) climbed to 35,000 ft and flew over Belgium, Germany, Austria, Hungary and Romania before the crew detected a technical issue on board.
About 3 hours into the flight, the flight path has been changed. The crew turned to South toward Egypt and then Saudi Arabia to reach Doha, Qatar.
The aircraft was experiencing weather radar issues which forced pilots to divert to Doha where it landed at 05:00 BST.
This Tuesday, 9M-MAC is still under maintenance at Hamad International Airport.
